What is in a Pokemon Elite Trainer Box?

A current Elite Trainer Box holds 9 booster packs, a foil promo card, 65 sleeves, Energy cards, dice and a collector's box; Pokemon Center's edition holds 11. The pack count has changed over the years, so check the box you are actually buying. Sealed, it sells for $66.14 to $493.32 on TCGplayer depending on the set, at market price read October 18, 2026.

Those counts come from The Pokemon Company's own product pages, read August 15, 2026, and describe current English releases. How many packs each kind of product holds has every one with its source. They are deliberately not stated per set, because the contents have changed between releases; what we can stand behind for a set is what came out of the ones opened here, counted below.

Which sets we opened these from

• Chaos Rising 27 openings27 packs
• Pitch Black 9 openings9 packs
• Prismatic Evolutions 9 openings9 packs
• Perfect Order 9 openings9 packs
• Ascended Heroes 9 openings9 packs

Openings and packs counted here, in our own videos, which is the only place these numbers come from. Of the 63 openings above, every one carries exactly one set tag, so the column adds up to the same 63. Each row opens that set's guide.

The promo card sealed in each of those boxes

Every Elite Trainer Box comes with one promo card, sitting in the tray under the sleeves rather than inside any of the packs. It is part of the product, so it is the same card in every copy of that set's box: one card per set below, listed once however many boxes of it we opened. Chaos Rising is the clearest case: 27 openings of it on this page, across more than one box, and the same single card in every one of them.

• Chaos Rising Fennekin full-art foil
• Pitch Black Zarude full-art foil
• Prismatic Evolutions Eevee full-art foil
• Perfect Order Tyrunt full-art foil
• Ascended Heroes N's Zekrom full-art foil

Nobody pulled these. This is what the box holds before it is opened, read off The Pokemon Company's own product page for each one, and that is why it is on this page instead of with the pulls. The Hall of Fame and every hit we list are only ever a record of what came out of a pack on camera, and an Elite Trainer Box promo never does. The card each row names is the standard Elite Trainer Box's; the Pokemon Center edition of all of these carries its own version stamped with the Pokemon Center logo, and we do not list it, because our product tag cannot tell the two boxes apart and we will not guess which one was on the desk.

What an Elite Trainer Box costs, by set. TCGplayer market price, read October 18, 2026

Prices are TCGplayer market and lowest listing, read October 18, 2026, the same figures the rest of this site quotes. They move. Pack prices works out what that comes to per pack, and what it should cost has the retail figure to measure any of it against. Each photograph is TCGplayer's, and it is that row's own product rather than a stand-in, which is why the art is different in every one of them.
