Card shops and where to play
Where I actually buy, and where you can sit down and play. Real shops around Rochester, New York, run by people who know the hobby. In the hobby these are your LCS, short for local card shop, and around here the counter you buy from and the table you play at are usually the same building, so both are on one page. Buy local when you can: the shop is why the local scene exists.

- Prerelease events for new sets
Straight from the store, by email on August 27, 2026: league nights every Monday at 6pm, and trade days roughly once a quarter with no fixed schedule. Their Delta Reign prerelease is penciled in for October 25 and is not locked yet; it goes on their own calendar once it is. Their Play! Pokemon league page still reads Inactive, which is their listing being stale rather than the league being off.

Just Games
Panorama Plaza, Penfield
The flagship game store in Rochester, NY, and the biggest of these. Singles, sealed and a proper events room. Through 2025 it had the busiest Pokemon calendar in the area; that calendar has gone quiet, so read the note below before you plan a trip around it.
- Where
- 1601 Penfield Rd, Suite 34, Rochester, NY 14625
- Phone
- 585-586-0586
- Open
- Mon to Sat noon to 9pm, Sun noon to 6pmconfirmed on their own site, August 25, 2026
Their Pokemon events have gone quiet, and it is their own three sources that say so, all read August 26, 2026. The Pokemon page this listing used to link has not been posted to since December 3, 2025 and carries nothing from 2026. Their live events calendar, covering late August to mid October 2026, lists no Pokemon at all: Magic, Lorcana, Star Wars Unlimited, 40K, D&D and Dice Throne, and no Pokemon. And their Play! Pokemon league reads Inactive. They ran prereleases, League Challenges and Cups, a Gym Leader Challenge season and Learn to Play sessions right through 2025, so this may be a gap rather than an ending. Call the counter before you drive out.

Legacy Games
Ridge Road, Webster
The Webster one, and the furthest east of these. They run a separate singles storefront alongside the main site, so you can see which Pokemon singles are actually in the case before you make the drive. They buy cards too. There is a game lounge on the same site as well, three semi-private rooms with consoles and a library of games, which makes it somewhere to stay rather than somewhere to stop, and it is the answer if whoever drove you does not collect.
- Where
- 1028 Ridge Rd, Suite 112, Webster, NY 14580
- Phone
- 585-866-4263
- Open
- Mon to Sat 11am to 9:30pm, Sun noon to 7pmconfirmed on their own site, August 25, 2026
You can play here
- Pokemon TCG League, Tuesdays 4:30pm to 9:30pm
- Casual play, Mondays
- Release events for new Pokemon sets
- Learn to play events, held regularly
The Monday casual play, the release events and the learn to play sessions come from the store directly, by email on August 27, 2026. The game lounge and the family-friendly framing are from the store's own bio, sent by email on September 1, 2026; the release events they run cover Magic, Pokemon, One Piece, Gundam and Union Arena, and only the Pokemon ones are listed here. The Tuesday league is from their own event pages: $5 to enter and it comes back as store credit, with a Pokemon prize pack on entry. Their calendar only publishes about two weeks ahead, so it shows one Tuesday at a time rather than a weekly series.

GI Cards and Collectibles
Geneva, in the Finger Lakes
A Geneva card shop that also runs the Sports Cards and Collectibles Show at del Lago, which is where most people around here will meet them. Their own store is heaviest on Magic and sealed sports, and their shows are billed as Pokemon, Magic and One Piece as well.
Play! Pokemon league schedules change constantly and go quiet between seasons. Call the shop before you drive.
Looking for a one off rather than a weekly night? The card show calendar has every show coming up around Rochester, NY, Buffalo and Syracuse.
Making a day of it? A plate is the other thing this city is known for, and the Garbage Plate page has the sourced history, a diagram of what is actually on one, and 11 places around here that serve one.
Not everyone selling cards around here has a storefront. Local vendors are the breakers and sellers we buy from without one, and local creators is who else is filming Pokemon in Rochester, NY, Buffalo and Syracuse. Everything local in one place is the short version of all of it, with the shows, the shops and the plate counted.
Addresses and phone numbers were last checked on August 15, 2026; opening hours carry their own date and source on each shop. Shops move and change their hours, so call ahead if you are making a trip of it.
